I have listened to your station, read the WCLX updates, and have read the listener comments. Now in the anguish of silence, I submit my own comments. I have lived and traveled around the country and the world. So tired I am of the "routine" of the mainstream radio programs. WCLX is a uniquely quirky station that represents, for lack of a better word...FREEDOM and is truly "underground" radio at its best! I lived in England for 2 great years and had purchased a SAVOY BROWN cd, who would have thought that I'd be able to hear them in Vermont? The memories, the fond memories. I enjoyed the rock-n-roll "history" lesson I recieved everytime I tuned in to WCLX. I look forward to the benefit concert. and hope to once again, be entertained by the great folks at WCLX, 102.9, The Album Station! Thank you and GOOD LUCK !!!

Tis a shame I'm forced to tune to 'The Point' now. I just can't do it. VPR will have to fill the void.

Hey, hey what can I do? Got a landlord that won't be true! Well, I say see ya later dude and I think you guys and what you are all about we be the better for it as will all us music-heads. I'm lovin' the idea of a benefit concert...hopefully this Fall??? I think you should have one every year. Also, just an idea for ya: maybe you could get some good rock memorabilia from all the bands you know...Savoy Brown, Davie Knowles, etc. and have an auction. And to that end, I've got a sweet Tragically Hip poster from the Shelburne venue this summer all framed and yours for the taking...should bring a couple hundred bucks at least. I will also be sending in my donation. And as a sponsor, maybe we could get all the sponsors together to donate $5-$10 from each sale???? Just a thought. Another newcomer to WCLX, I'm listening from all the way over in Glasgow. I'm sad to hear something, whatever it is, has happened to WCLX. I always enjoyed Diane's cheerful commentaries in between songs and features. It's a shame. You guys had some great music.

It's not fair - I just found you a few weeks ago while visiting my son in VT (I'm from Philly) and have been listening online ever since. What a great station!!!! Now you're gone? Well, that stinks!!! Do whatever it takes to get back on the air (the web at least). You guys are way too good and know way too much about our generation's great music to not be sharing it with the world.

The web could be a huge opportunity that, if properly tapped, could provide all the revenue you need to keep going, and even subsidize whatever it costs to get on the local airwaves in Burlington. Don't underestimate the power of the numbers. Even if 50,000 people paid only a buck or two per month, what could you accomplish with $50,000 or $100,000 per month? And who wouldn't pay $2/month for access to your great tunage and amazing rock and roll knowledge? I pay a heck of a lot more than that for XM Deep Tracks every month. There must be millions of people around the world that crave the same great music we all enjoy - we just need to let them know you exist - the music will do the rest.

After living in a number of major cities, I can't say I have ever encountered a station with such excellent programming. As a "former" musician and life long rock scholar, I was totally humbled with the depth of the tracks and Russ and Diane's knowledge. Ok so we can either all like what Clear Channel decides what we can listen to or get out our wallets and creativity and support these guys in their quest to get back on the air. Russ/Diane/Chip please keep up the faith and updates. Let us know what you need - money, fund raising- car wash/bake sales/thsirts - what ever it takes, you name it and we will help you out.

Hey Diane, Russ, Chip, and crew--finally today I thought to check musicheads.us to see what the scoop was. Sheesh--so sorry this happened. Wish I could add a bunch of zeros to my donation. Thanks for the streaming audio, but, like an e-book, it's just not the same as the "real thing." I hope you'll be back on the air before too long. Good luck!

I'm just wondering how much progress has been made fundraising...I sent in my contribution a week ago.....Happy to do it if it gets The Album Station back on the air!!

My donation is on it's way too. People pay for Cable/sattelite TV and Sattelite radio. This is no different. It is funny how things are taken for granted until they are taken. Then People, it is time to take it back!!! We pay our bills for the aforementioned. Let's step up here too. A valuable resource hinges in the balance. A call to all Musicheads, let's fill that "static void". Need more convincing? Listen to one or two of the classic rock stations for one hour. "The Grand Illusion" for the 1,000th time, or something fresh? New tunes of Back Door Slam. Fresh new artists such as Joanne Shaw Taylor, or more of the worn out tracks that market research says that we like? The choice is obvious. Let's do it now!!!!

The loss I've been feeling since you were taken off the air is kind of hard to explain. I don't get the station at home in Central VT, but listened daily while working in Burlington until "retiring" in April. It was on my car radio whenever the reception was allowed and I often listened on the web. I will be paypaling a donation, and will keep posted on your efforts. WCLX was a treasure, and I will urge others to support it as well. Keep the faith.

As a Canadian (Québec) trucker who drives daily from the Eastern Townships through Vermont, WCLX was a real highlight of my day. Friday evenings were a special treat with the Blues hour. Often I would get home and go online to find more about the artists or songs that I had heard during the day, often searching details just based on a recurring phrase in the song. At first I was thinking that my antenna was defective and that was the reason for not being able to listen to you, alas the truth was discoverd! I listen to VPR and contribute on a monthly basis to their programming and would be willing to do the same with WCLX. Even though you're on the web, it's no use to me in my truck......

My wife and I are recent Metro NYC transplants. We discovered WCLX one night last year while anchored on our sailboat. We live in Rutland, and travel up to "the lake" for respite. THE FIRST thing to do upon arrival, was to turn on "the album station".We considered WCLX as important as bringing food and water! The station has put us to sleep many a night, and sent shivers up our spines upon hearing excellent new music, or songs not heard in 20 years.

I REFUSE to listen to the same 75 songs, or support the stations that do. My donation is on its way. FELIX & SUE

I'm writing from the radio desert of Athens, Georgia, where Cox owns and "programs" everything in town, except for a college station and an LP that are probably great if you are under 30. You guys are an oasis for me. I just sent what I could. I hope you can get back on FM soon, so your local audiance can get you back in the car - oh how I've envied them..

Count me in - I sent my donation in today. It is great that you can continue streaming over the web, but there is no substitute for getting you back on the air! Your programming is unique - and really is the only music station I care to listen to day after day. Since you have gone off the air, I have searched up and down the dial for a temporary substitute, but find myself plugging in the iPod instead. Long live underground radio!

For anyone who is a music head, life as we know it ceased to exist on 9/9/09 with CLX being taken off the air. I spent a couple years doing a stint as a DJ on my college radio station about 30 years ago. I was like a kid in a candy store - albums by artists from A to Z were at my fingertips...Grand Funk, Steve Forbert, Little Feat, Traffic, Joni Mitchell, Jean Luc Ponty, JJ Cale, Tom Waits, music - real music. The same music that CLX was known for. Music that a 'head' could listen to for hours, music that transformed us, fed our souls, made us dream. Losing CLX is just wrong.

If you tuned into 102.9 lately you will hear some very crappy radio programing, You can tell it is not Diane and Russ. It is MUDD radio from Middlebury and it sucks big time. It is very easy to tell if a DJ knows what he is diong with the music program. What you are hearing now is maybe one good song and then a bunch crap you do no want to listen to. There is no way I can listen to that. I'll wait for Russ and Diane.

I'm with you Jay, there is just to much bad radio out there. I miss The Album Station.

Your absense from the Vermont airwaves has created a black hole that is sucking the life out of the radio medium, as we once knew it. How thankful I am for you uninterrupted streaming on the web. This has been a life saver to get through very long, 12 hour, over night, work shifts. Have you seen much on this new film "Pirate Radio"? Seems to me whoever it is that weaseled their way into your airspace, using your dial location - 102.9 & call letters - WCLX, are the real pirates. How is this legally possible? Check that. I'm sure there is some very legalese explanation that would only add to that sucking black hole. A better question to ponder is, how can you highjack your livelyhood back? Suz and I miss you guys & we're looking forward to hearing you back on the air.

I was away from radio for a few months this summer and when I returned 102.9 was quiet; no signal. I kept trying and a couple of weeks ago I started hearing something on that frequency that sounded similar at times but certainly not the same. I had no idea what had happened until I finally got to do a few Google searches. Snakes in the grass and crawling up my legs! Bite me, new WCLX! Several times I was about to call in to their Tell Us What You Think phone number to let them know that I turn to another station when that common Pop Rock crap comes on. But, now, I think it's probably better if I just tune out and let them fade away rather than try to 'improve' them. Their programming is disjointed, abrassive at times and simply does not flow smoothly.

I hope someday that the old 102.9/WCLX will find another frequency to continue playing that same great format that I really appreciate. While Internet streaming is OK at certain times and places, it is not as portable and available as radio waves.

I love the liner "Rockin' in the free world and Vermont " (Doug?). That's a most likely unintended statement of the truth! LMAO!! Here's hoping the free-market music of The Album Station can thrive in the world market of the internet despite the reality of modern-day Vermont. I'd like to hope that Russ & Diane could save a bunch of taxes by moving across the state line to the impoverished hamlet of their former community-of-license, Westport, NY. But it is New York after all. You'd just be paying for the city here and not getting any of the benefits. So best to stay put, grin and bear it.

I can see where it might be confusing to some listeners that the call letters that were associated with The Album Station for so many years are being used by different programmers. They should have changed them! Anyway......they're really not fooling many people.......only the clueless. Most everyone can tell the difference. BTW. I am not a cow. And I am enjoying the streaming on Live 365. I removed 102.9 from the presets in my car.

I just recently picked up on the 'new' WCLX 102.9. What a weird and ugly mix that is.. oddball, not very good blues; obscure, not very good 'indie' and (possibly) 'new folk'. I was thinking that maybe The Album Station was trying a new format, but nothing seemed right-no explanations, no comments, etc. Checked back in at this web site for an update, and I'm glad I did! Keep us posted...and happy holidays!

Although I do miss you on the radio dial, even when you were broadcasting in that traditional fashion, I could receive reliable reception of WCLX only in my car. I find it sad and frustrating to know that you have at least temporarily been driven off the air waves. However, I am very grateful that you remain as you always have been, a beacon of great music for those who appreciate it and know where to find it. For those of you with an itouch or an iphone. I just got an itouch and I went to search in APPS and found LIVE 365. I got the free app and now I can plug my itouch into my stereo and again have great tunes in my shop to listen to all day every day.

I had to do something, it almost makes me sick to listen to what is there now.

There is no replacement for the Albulm Station.

Damn, Diane, Smokey Robinson & The Miracles' "Tears of a Clown" is one of the best songs ever committed to vinyl (and it's also the first 45 I ever purchased as a young'n). Hearing it amidst the great mix of Album Station tunes has elevated my otherwise-pedestrian Tuesday afternoon, Thanks!

Are you able to make a go of the internet radio gig for a while? I realize that to us it's great music, but I also understand it is how you put food on the table. I finally remembered to go to the MusicHeads page to be able to listen to your great station. I tried to get it through iTunes but to no avail (although I did see that other station with the 102.9 signature there). Also surprised not to see SmallDog Electronics listed as one of your sponsors. They are a great source of Mac products and are located in Waitsfield, plus thet have a store in S.Burlington. Wouldn't hurt to solicit. I'm sure there's a lot of old heads listening to you there.

I just don't get it. How can anyone even think that what is on the old "last century" frequency is the same radio station that was there for a decade? I guess that (for some) the hackers are good enuff. Not for me. The whole thing sounds canned and automated. Anyway, I look forward to the station I know and love returning to the airwaves. Meanwhile, I listen online regularly. Kudos to the longtime sponsors for staying on board with The Album Station.

Hey! I just heard myself singin' on your station. I'm kind of a night owl. Love that you play a whole lot of CCR and John Fogerty. Have also noticed that you play a lot of my friend, TBone's produced stuff. Thanks for the music. I listen when I'm in Montana and also in Los Angeles, where I grew up.
